Position Summary
The Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking board-certified, eligible, or similarly qualified Otolaryngologist for a full-time position at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank. This position will provide clinic and operating room services at a Department of Corrections facility for two days each week, supplemented by additional clinical responsibilities, inpatient and outpatient care at UNC Health, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for patients. This position offers ample opportunity to utilize a wide range of otolaryngology skills, with encouragement for candidates interested in or willing to develop expertise in facial trauma surgery. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest and potential for both teaching and research within a dynamic environment that provides comprehensive exposure to all facets of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery patient care.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Candidates must have an M.D., D.O. or equivalent.
- Board eligible or board certified in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine within the state of North Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a dedication to patient care and education.
- Background in teaching and mentoring within an academic or clinical setting.
